SMM Weekly Operating Rate of Secondary Lead Smelters (May 24-30, 2025) [SMM Weekly Lead Review]

From May 24, 2025 to May 30, 2025, the weekly operating rate of secondary lead smelters in four provinces tracked by SMM was 39.97%, representing a WoW increase of 3.26 percentage points. Last week, a smelter in Anhui province halted production, and this week, individual smelters cut production due to poor raw material arrivals, leading to a slight decline in the regional operating rate. Some secondary lead smelters in Jiangsu and Henan provinces remained shut down, while the resumption of production at a large smelter in Inner Mongolia drove a sharp increase in the regional operating rate. Given that the tight raw material supply situation may be difficult to alleviate after the Dragon Boat Festival, there is a need to be vigilant about the possibility of a decline in the operating rate.
